Testing on damaged skin/scarified patch test

In some cases of product testing, the imitation of pre-damaged skin is helpful: Here, the test area is slightly scratched superficially (scarified) with a lancet. The following epicutaneous test can be performed either as a closed or as an open variant and is therefore also suitable for substances with poor penetration. Application on scarified skin can therefore provide information about tolerability even on damaged skin.
