Accredited patch test
In October 2017, Dermatest GmbH became the first company in the world to perform an accredited test procedure for assessing the tolerability of substances applied directly on human skin. Due to our many years of experience and our high quality standards, this test method has become established and has been developed continuously, achieving accreditation of the patch test by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (reference number D-PL-18531-02-00). For the test method, our standard patch test is based on the guidelines of the German Dermatological Society (DDG) and the German Society for Allergology and Clinical Immunology (DGAKI) for “Performance of the epicutaneous test with contact allergens” (AWMF guidelines register). Additional requirements of the accredited patch test are approval by an ethics committee, approval of the test by a safety assessor, and inclusion of positive and negative controls. This guarantees an even greater level of safety in the test results. Both cosmetic and consumer goods can be tested.
